Why We Must Make Major Changes Now

Human overpopulation and human activity have turned on

Runaway Global Warming

And Set in Motion

Dozens of Highly-Destructive Global Climate Changes.

We Have a Choice --

Wake up and Reverse these Changes or Die!

In addition to releasing vast amounts of carbon dioxide into the Earth's atmosphere, human-caused Climate Change has also triggered the release of the 10,000 billion tons of methane presently frozen in the Arctic Circle. Methane is twenty times more destructive to the environment than carbon dioxide. Each year, the amount of this gas being released is increasing. If we do not take action intentionally designed to stop this cycle, the entire 10,000 billion tons of methane presently frozen in the Arctic Circle will automatically be released into the atmosphere. The environment will be drastically altered.

The Earth’s temperature will rise about eighteen degrees Fahrenheit causing most large life forms on the entire planet to become extinct. The temperature has already risen by two degrees. With another degree of temperature rise, (two degrees at the most) Global Warming will become unstoppable.

The ocean level will rise by several feet forcing millions (perhaps even billions) of people out of their homes. **rgw2 (100 million people live within three feet of sea level. Ocean level rise is already beginning to show up.)

Millions of square miles of the world's most beautiful and productive land will be under salt water. Major cities like London, Venice, New York, Washington, New Orleans will be mostly under water, as will much of Florida and Louisiana.

Glaciers and mountain snow caps will disappear completely leaving an estimated twenty to to thirty percent of the world’s population without fresh water in the dry season. Entire ecosystems (trees, plants, animals, fish, insects, etc.) that these mountain, glacial waters support will also die. (This melting process is already happening all over the world, and the rate of snow-cap melt is increasing every year)

Billions of people will die of environmental exposure, from disease, from starvation, or from humans fighting over water, land, and food.

Dozens of other highly destructive environmental changes will occur. Many changes are already well under way such as those causing the unusual and severe weather patterns. Each change is amplifying the effects of the other changes. Their combined effect, if allowed to continue, will soon overpower all opposition. The consequences, already devastating, deadly, will soon become irreversible!

Clouds, and Global Warming

Although these four factors seem distant and independent, they are intimately inter-related. Here's how they're connected.

Clouds: We've all noticed that on a cloudy day, the temperature is cooler or colder. That's because the clouds reflect a significant portion of the sunlight back into space.
*** Fewer clouds = warmer temperature.
*** More clouds = lower temperature.

Cosmic Rays and Clouds:   When stars explode and die, they give of cosmic rays.   The earth's atmosphere is constantly being struck by cosmic rays. When cosmic rays hit the earth's atmosphere, they become the particulates around which water collects.   These water condensations are a major source of the water droplets in clouds.
*** Fewer cosmic rays = fewer clouds = warmer temperature.
*** More cosmic rays = more clouds = lower temperature.

The Sun's activity: When the sun spots and sun flares are more active, that activity reduces the number of cosmic rays reaching the Earth's atmosphere.
*** More sun activity = fewer cosmic rays = fewer clouds =
           warmer temperature.
*** Less sun activity = more cosmic rays = more clouds =
         lower temperature.

The Bottom Line: Cosmic rays and the suns activity have a direct affect upon the Earth's cloud cover, and cloud cover affects Global Climate Change. Sun spot activity runs in about an eleven year cycle. The next peak is expected in 2013

The Melting of Antarctic Ice

Unless we (the collective we) wake up and face the truth, life as we presently know it will, very soon, be washed away in a single day when the Ross ice shelf in Antarctica falls into the ocean This will cause a sudden 14 foot rise in the ocean level. If global warming is allowed to continue, this disaster is inevitable.

But, we can ignore this, too, because corporate America has everything well under control.

We have a tendency to believe that what happens a long distance from us does not mater because we're not affected. The evidence tells us a very different story. Here's an example:

Global warming is melting the ice thousands of miles away in Antarctica. Antarctica hold about 70% of the worlds fresh water. Over much of the continent, the ice is more than a mile and a half thick. Melting even a portion of this ice will dramatically rise the ocean level, and that will have a huge impact on you no matter where you live.

Scientists are telling us that, unless the global warming is reversed, a major melt down is inevitable. That meltdown will cause the ocean level to rise about 200 feet. Nobody can't predict its timing so they simply paint the timing picture with a very broad brush and say. "within the next fifty to one hundred years."

If you still believe that you won't be affected by something that will occur fifty years into the future, try this one on and see if it fits. The Scientists are also predicting that the Ross Ice Shelf in Antarctica will fall into the ocean in several large pieces or in one huge event. This event could occur at a any time. It could happen today or time within the next few years. Large pieces have already fallen off.

The Ross Ice Shelf is a huge block of ice that is attached to Antarctica. It's not on land. It's floating over the ocean. It's so big that when it falls into the ocean, the water level will rise by about 16 feet. If we allow global warming to continue. its fall into the ocean is inevitable. If this break-off occurs in one single event, it will raise the ocean level by about 14 feet in a single day and create a worldwide tsunami disaster that will directly kill billions of humans.

The after affect will likely kill millions, perhaps billions more. This event could trigger earthquakes and volcanoes. It will have a dramatic affect upon the Earth's temperature. As this huge floating iceberg melts, the ocean level will rise another two feet.

Here's a question for which we'd like an answer: What will happen at the nuclear power plants that will be wiped out by this mega-tsunami? Will they "go quietly into the night," or will we have several nuclear meltdowns all occurring at the same time?

Reflective Surfaces:

Snow is the brightest surface on the planet. It reflects the most heat. Open ocean is the darkest surface on the planet. It absorbs the most heat. The melting of glaciers exposes barren rocks and mountain top soil. Mountain tops stripped of their glacial snow caps shift from being heat reflectors into being heat absorbers. As polar and mountain to ice melts, this speeds up global warming.

Timing:

Here's another factor to consider. Just about every ice-melt prediction in the past has occurred much sooner and melted much faster than the experts predicted.

What If you Are Wrong?

Have you ever been wrong? Is it possible that you could be wrong about something now? What if you are wrong about climate Change? If you are betting (acting as if) the Runaway Global Climate Change is not real or if you are acting as if we have plenty of time to make the necessary changes, what will be the consequences of your being wrong?

But what if you bet (act as if) Global Climate Change is only a hippie-tree-hugger's fairytale and you are wrong? As described above, the consequences are devastating, deadly and irreversible Are you willing to take that chance?

**rgw2 **rgw2 Estimates of the actual see level rise range from three feet to about forty feet. There is enough water frozen in the polar ice caps, in Greenland, Iceland in the mountain glaciers to raise the ocean level by more than 200 feet. Even if the rise is only the minimum prediction, ( three feet) that will displace the 100 million people who live within three feet of sea level.
